Parul Chaudhary wins another medal Parul strategically held back during most of the race and then made a decisive move, breaking away from the pack and closely trailing Japan's Ririka Hironaka before ultimately securing the win in dramatic fashion. In a thrilling finish, Parul Chaudhary trailed behind Hironaka until the last few meters, where she surged ahead to claim the gold medal. This victory adds to her earlier silver medal in the women's 3000m steeplechase. On Tuesday, Parul clocked an impressive time of 15:14.75 in the 5000m race. On October 2, 2023, Parul Chaudhary commenced India's Athletics day on a high note. She recorded a remarkable time of 9:27:63 in the women's 3000m steeplechase, surpassing the previous Asian Games record set by Jebet Ruth in 2014.
