 After defeat against Bangladesh, Indian players fined 80 percent of match fees

Indian players have been fined 80 percent of their match fees after a slow over rate vs Bangladesh in the first One Day International match in Dhaka.

ICC elite panel match referee Ranjan Madugalle imposed the sanction after India were four overs short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration. Following Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined 20 percent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has also pleaded guilty to the offense and team management has accepted the proposed sanctions, ICC statement said.

India saw a 1-wicket defeat at the hands of their neighbours. Mehidy Hasan was the man of the moment for Bangladesh as he added 51 runs with the last standing man Mustafizur Rahman to guide his team to glory.

India struggled with the bat again as three batters Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and skipper Rohit Sharma failed to score runs. KL Rahul who was given to keep the wickets top-scored for Team India with his 73-run knock.
