SPORTS 14 England players including skipper Ben Stokes infected with an unknown virus in Pakistan Harshit Jan 01, 2023 16:47 GMT England cricket team is currently in Pakistan after almost two decades for a Test series. Ahead of the mega series, many players including skipper Ben Stokes are down with an unidentified virus. Reports say as many as 14 players of the England cricket team have been infected with the virus. Reports suggest that only five players- Joe Root, Zak Crawley, Harry Brook, Ollie Pope, and Keaton Jennings -attended the optional training on the eve of the series opener. Team spokesman Danny Reuben did not told too much about the virus cases but he said unwell players "have been advised to stay at the hotel to rest up. In the absence of Stokes, the Pakistan Cricket Board had to postpone the trophy unveiling of the series by a day and the ceremony will now be held on Thursday ahead of the toss for the first Test."
