Rahman, possibly the biggest musician in the country has been intertwined in a controversy. The surgeons' association, ASICON filed a complaint against him for charging 29 lakhs for a concert that never took place in 2018. Since then, the musician and his team filed a notice against the association for defamation. A. R. Rahman 'Marakuma Nenjam' controversy This is not the first time the musician got himself caught up in a controversy. In September 2023, A. R. Rahman was on a tour named, 'Marakuma Nenjam' where he performed at many cities. However, during his concert in Chennai, the musician and team received a lot of negative complaints about the concert due to severe mismanagement. The venue was severely overcrowded with people entering with fake tickets. Moreover, several complaints of molestation and groping were also issued by the fans. Along with this, many who had tickets were not allowed to enter the concert due to overcrowding. Many also complained about the poor volume of the show that did not reach the audience at the back of the venue, making it a terrible experience for many. Since the incident, his team released a vague and generic apology that was not appreciated by the fans. A. R. Rahman also gave a formal apology for everything that went wrong by taking accountability. A. R. Rahman filed a 10 crore lawsuit This time, a complaint was filed against him by ASICON declaring that he was paid a total of 29 Lakhs for a concert that never took place. The musician's team not only denied the claims but also filed a 10 crore lawsuit for defamation. In the notice, he asked for an apology and gave 3 days' notice to withdraw the complaint.
