Woman's Skull Fractured, Ribs Exposed: Delhi Car Horror's Full Scale

Delhi Car Horror: The 20-year-old Delhi woman who was dragged beneath a car for 13 kilometers suffered at least 40 exterior injuries, some of which were so severe that they exposed her ribs from her back as skin peeled away, according to an autopsy.
Her skull's base was broken, and some of her "brain tissue was missing," according to the report. She was returning from a New Year's celebration on a scooter when she was involved in an accident and dragged, suffering injuries to her head, spine, and lower limbs.

Her death was attributed to "shock and haemorrhage," and the article speculates that her injuries may have contributed to her demise as a whole. "No injury suggests sexual assault," the report states. Her body was discovered on the side of the road unclothed, which caused her mother to worry that she had been sexually assaulted.

As the men continued from Sultanpuri, where they had hit her scooter, to Jonti hamlet near Kanjhapura, where one of the men eventually saw her hand coming out from under the car, her garments were torn off by the dragging.

Postmortem report reveals "blunt force impact" the actual cause of death

According to the postmortem report, Anjali Singh sustained all of her wounds as a consequence of a "blunt force impact." The board of doctors has reported, "All injuries collectively can cause death in the ordinary course of nature. However, injury to the head, spine, long bone and other injuries can cause death independently and collectively in the ordinary course of nature."

According to her friend who was with her at the time of the crash, the victim's leg was jammed in the front axle and "the driver realised she was stuck in the undercarriage."

The men were turning around when they noticed her hand and stopped. The body then dropped, and they sped off, giving the car back to their friend.

According to reports, they claimed to have panicked since they were inebriated and unable to hear anything owing to the loud music in the car. There was no music playing in the car, and the driver was aware that Anjali was being dragged under the wheels, but he "continued pushing the vehicle back and forth," according to her friend, who was unharmed and fled the accident site "out of terror and despair."

"Anjali was continuously screaming, but they didn't stop the vehicle. I fled the spot out of fear and did not inform anyone… I cried a lot… The vehicle dragged her in forward and backward direction twice then again they took the vehicle forward and she got entangled further," she informed the press.

She claimed that on New Year's Eve, she and Anjali, who worked as an event organiser, went to meet some friends at a hotel where they had some drinks. Swati Maliwal, the head of Delhi Commission For Women (DCW), meanwhile, issued a warning against "victim-shaming" and suggested that the friend's allegation be corroborated.

The companion is considered by police to be a crucial eyewitness who, coupled with CCTV evidence, could help reconstruct what happened.

Anjali Singh's funeral procession on Tuesday

Anjali Singh's family and neighbours marched beside the funeral procession on Tuesday while several of them carried placards that read, "Anjali ko insaaf do (Give justice to Anjali)." The five men should be hung, several of the protesters shouted.

The males are officially charged with culpable homicide that does not constitute murder as well as other connected offences after being detained hours after the occurrence.

The terrible occurrence occurred while the nation's capital was under a security embargo because of the New Year, and the Union Home Ministry, to which the Delhi police report, authorised the creation of a special inquiry team. Before the incident at around two in the morning, the men had been drinking while operating the automobile for hours in and around Delhi.
