 Weather Update: Yellow alert in Delhi-NCR; check what's in store in Patna, Ranchi and Lucknow

Weather Update: Since the beginning of June, the monsoon season has already spread to nearly every region of the nation, with rain falling in nearly every state at this time, from the north to the south. The Indian Meteorological Department has notably issued a yellow alert for mild to heavy rainfall over the next three days in Delhi-NCR. As per the IMD forecast, Lucknow is predicted to have cloudy sky with thunder lightning across the city. However, the Nilgiris region and the Ghat sections of the Coimbatore district are under a red alert from the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) for today's exceptionally severe weather. In addition, a yellow notice has been issued for the Kanyakumari district, indicating that severe weather could continue for several days. However this may get worse than earlier. It is predicted to be a partly overcast sky in Chennai with light to moderate rain. This can be accompanied by thundershowers , in certain places. It is expected to reach a high temperature of approximately 37°C and a low temperature of approximately 27–28°C.

IMD forecasts severe to extremely heavy rainfall across Karnataka, with some areas expected to see extremely heavy precipitation. The Indian Meteorological Department reports that parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala have seen heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. IMD forecasts significant rainfall in certain areas across Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Gujarat, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir. The same is predicted in several regions of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal.

The Weather department raised a yellow alert for states like Bihar, Jharkhand and the capital city of both the states, i.e. Patna and Ranchi, which may receive light rainfall.
