NATION Weather Update: IMD forecasts Widespread showers in Bihar, Manipur & other Southern states Gurveen Kaur Aug 29, 2022 06:29 GMT Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday, forecasted heavy rain in many parts of the country for the next few days. On Monday, IMD predicts widespread or heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. The meteorological department had earlier forecasted that Pune would likely have cloudy sky and mild rain through August 31. According to the IMD, on August 29 Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh are anticipated to get fairly widespread or widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning. "Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on 28th & 29th August, 2022," said IMD in a series of tweets. Over the next four days, West Bengal and Sikkim in the sub-Himalaya are also predicted to have light to moderate widespread rainfall. North Interior Karnataka, Telangana, and Rayalaseema in the southern region of India are expected to experience widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms from August 28 to 30, according to the forecast agency. Over the next five days, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, and coastal Karnataka will all expect fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rains and thunderstorms, according to the IMD.
