 Weather Update: IMD forecast heavy rain over parts of J&K, Himachal and other states

Weather Update: Heavy rain is expected in parts of J&K, Himachal, Odisha, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), drizzle will continue over the North, East, and Central parts of the country for the next 3 to 5 days.

The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall in isolated areas over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Kerala, and Mahe, and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal for August 25.

Thunderstorms with lightning are expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, East Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Squally weather with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is expected along and off the coasts of Karnataka and Kerala, the Lakshadweep area, the Comorin area, south of the southwest Bay of Bengal and the southeast Bay of Bengal.

Isolated heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecasted over southeast Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal on August 25, over Odisha on August 25 and 26, over East Uttar Pradesh on August 27 and 28, over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on August 26-28, and over Bihar on August 27 and 28.

Over the next five days, moderate rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
