UP CM Yogi receives first dose of covid-19 vaccine

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received the first jab of vaccination against Covid-19 on Monday. He was administered the vaccine dose at a civil hospital by staff nurse Rashmi Singh. Talking to ANI, the chief minister thanked PM Modi for availing covid-19 vaccine free of cost and urged to those who are eligible to take vaccine shot.

He said that the vaccine was completely safe and people must continue to follow the safety protocols even after being taking the vaccine dose.

“I thank the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) and the Union health ministry for making the vaccine available free of cost. I also thank the scientists of the country. The vaccine is completely safe. We all should take it when our turn comes,” Adityanath told news agency ANI. “I appeal to the people to take all precautions even after taking the vaccine. The new Covid wave is the result of our complacency in observing Covid behaviour,” he added

India is currently in its third phase of vaccination. In the first phase, the country inoculated healthcare and frontline workers, while in the second phase people above 60 and those above 45 with co morbidities were administered the vaccine shot. For the ongoing third phase, the Centre has allowed everyone above 45 to receive the vaccine dose.
