India sends four C-17s to Turkey with supplies for the needy, first responders, and medical staff

As part of its Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (HADR) initiatives to aid earthquake-devastated Turkey and Syria, India sent four Indian Air Force (IAF) C-17 Globemaster transport planes with relief supplies, a 30-bed field hospital, and rescue and medical personnel to Turkey on Tuesday. Tuesday's daytime hours saw the arrival of the first C-17. India is sending medical supplies to Syria through an IAF C-130 transport plane, despite the flight's departure was postponed throughout the day. "An IAF jet bound for Syria with 6 tonnes of emergency relief supplies has taken off. Emergency medical supplies and life-saving medications are included in consignment. S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, tweeted late on Tuesday that India "stands in solidarity with those most touched by this tragedy."
