NATION Star, nearest to the Sun named after Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee Rafia Tasleem Dec 26, 2022 06:51 GMT Atal Bihari Vajpayee: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chapter in Aurangabad named a star after the recipient of the "Bharat RATNA" on Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birth anniversary, which was observed as "Good Governance Day" across the nation, announced Aurangabad BJP president Shirish Boralkar on Sunday.The star is 392.01 light years away from Earth. It is the star that is nearest to the Sun. The star gets the name Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. Registration Number CX16408US.” From May 16, 1996, to June 1, 1996, and again from March 19, 1998, until May 22, 2004, Vajpayee held the position of prime minister. In the administration of Prime Minister Moraji Desai, he also served as India's Minister of External Affairs from 1977 to 1979. On August 16, 2018, he passed away at the AIIMS hospital in Delhi.
