Shashi Tharoor warns nation, says vaccine decision is premature before final trials

Just after the Drug Controller brief on the approval of Bharat Biotech's COVAXIN and Serum's COVISHIELD vaccine.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also warned people on his social media handle about using the vaccine. He said that the vaccine approval was premature and the government is risking the lives of the citizens as the COVAXIN has not done with the Phase 3 trials.

"The Covaxin has not yet had Phase 3 trials. Approval was premature and could be dangerous," Shashi Tharoor tweeted.

He urged people to avoid the use of the vaccine till the final trials are over and asked the Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan to clarify the entire situation.
