'Sahibzaades Are Inspiring Generations,' PM Modi urges the nation to be free from 'Narrow Perspectives of the Past'

PM Modi: On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that Sahibzaades continue to inspire new generations. PM Modi took part in a Veer Bal Diwas ceremony at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi. He paid respects to the sons of Guru Gobind Singh, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, who lost their lives defending their faith.

Speaking at the occasion, PM Modi claimed that we were taught only specific historical narratives, which causes an inferiority mindset. Generations are being inspired by Sahibzaades. A nation with such a history ought to be confident, but sadly, we were only taught specific historical tales in the name of history, which causes an inferiority mentality, according to PM Modi.

Guru Gobind Singh opposed Aurangzeb's terrorist efforts to forcefully convert his children to his faith

Further, according to PM Modi, Guru Gobind Singh opposed Aurangzeb's terrorist efforts to forcefully convert the children of Guru Gobind Singh to his new faith.  "Guru Gobind Singh stood steadfastly against the terrorism of Aurangzeb and his intentions to change India. Aurangzeb and his people wanted to change the religion of Guru Gobin Singh's children by the force of a sword," according to PM Modi.

PM Modi declared during the Veer Baal Diwas programme, "World's history is filled with instances of atrocities. Three centuries ago Chamkaur and Sirhind wars were fought, on one side there was Mughal Sultanate blind to communal extremism and on the other there were our Gurus."

In order to lead India to greater heights of success, according to PM Modi, we must free ourselves from the limited viewpoints of the past."If we want to take India to newer heights of success then we have to become free from the narrow perspectives of the past."
