New Delhi: "Will Send 44 Judges' Names In 3 Days, "Center Informs Supreme Court

New Delhi: The administration informed the Supreme Court on Friday that forty-four judges would be qualified for nomination to the higher judiciary within three days after being instructed to "respect the rules of the land" and urged not to stall the procedure.
The Supreme Court requested that the government expedite the removal of any pending names after hearing a petition on the delay in the appointment of justices to the higher judiciary.

The centre gave the court its word that it would adhere to the schedule.

A dispute over the procedure has arisen between the government and the judiciary, with Law Minister Kiren Rijiju claiming that "judges appointing judges is not an ideal system”.

Every system will have imperfections, the Supreme Court declared today, but the rule of law must be upheld.
