Narendra Modi: Prime Minister criticizes 'shortcut' politics in Nagpur address

Narendra Modi: In a speech at the AIIMS in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked political parties that engage in "shortcut" politics and warned against "politics of opportunism."

"The voters are being betrayed by several political parties. We cannot allow expedient politics determine our fate," The Prime Minister urged citizens to make public all the parties' vote-banking expenditures.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur, was opened by PM Modi on Sunday. Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, and Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Raosaheb Danve were all there.

"Avoid shortcut politics," it reads

"I want to advise you not to engage in hurried politics. The biggest enemies of the nation are those political figures who use short cuts. A government cannot be formed by those who seek to take office by making false promises. I implore them to recognise the significance of development, "According to the prime minister's speech.

"Samruddhi Expressway" between Nagpur and Mumbai

Additionally, he opened the first section of the "Samruddhi Expressway" between Nagpur and Mumbai. The first phase, which spans 520 km, links Nagpur with the pilgrimage centre of Shirdi in the Ahmednagar district.

In addition to this, he swore in the crew and rode in the train with students for the inaugural run of the Nagpur Metro rail project. He also lay the cornerstone for the metro project's Phase-II. Along with some students, the prime minister rode the metro between the stations of Zero Mile Freedom Park and Khapri.

Initiatives launched today will change the course of Maharashtra's growth

PM Modi remarked as he formally laid the cornerstone for many projects in Maharashtra: "The initiatives that were launched today will change the course of Maharashtra's growth. These initiatives present a comprehensive picture of the state's infrastructure. It is evidence of how quickly the Maharashtra and central governments are operating." (sic)

"Launch and inauguration of development projects worth Rs 75,000 crore in Nagpur will give new direction and energy for progress and prosperity of Maharashtra. Infrastructure development in India in the last 8 years had a human touch," said the Prime Minister.
