 Mumbai Fashion Street Fire Causes Chaos, No Casualties Reported

Mumbai Fashion Street: A fire destroyed at least ten roadside shops on Mumbai Fashion Street on Saturday afternoon, according to a civic official, who added that no one was wounded in the event. It is worth noting that firefighters hurried to the scene and extinguished the fire; nonetheless, a few shops on Fashion Street were destroyed in the incident.

Images show thick black smoke billowing from the Fashion Street neighbourhood as a result of the fire that burned many establishments there. It's worth noting that Fashion Street refers to a collection of street-side clothing stores on MG Road near Azad Maidan in South Mumbai.

Around 1 p.m., a fire broke out in one of the businesses on Fashion Street, a roadside fashion market near Churchgate, and quickly spread to several of its neighbouring stores, he said.

"After the fire brigade was alerted about the incident, six fire engines were rushed to the spot," the official said, adding that the blaze was extinguished in around 15 minutes. 

What BMC Said

According to the BMC, information of the incident in the businesses on Fashion Street in Mumbai was received on Saturday, and fire tenders were dispatched to the scene. Fashion Street has been temporarily stopped to traffic till the situation is stabilised, according to a tweet from Mumbai Traffic Police.
