KK Shailaja slams KPCC Cheif on his rape remark

The Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja targeted the state Congress Chief over misogynistic comment on rape victims.

“Only persons with a dangerous mentality can say such things. Do rape victims who do not commit suicide have no self-respect? Did he mean that? Politicians should not repeatedly make such anti-women comments,’’ Shailaja said.

The Kerala Congress Chief Mullapally Ramachandran has earlier said if women with self-respect raped then she should die or avoid getting rape again.

“No one can trust a woman who publicly says she got raped, a woman with self-respect will kill herself if she is raped.”

In reply to Ramachandran's comment, KK Shailaja said rape is the curliest crime in human society and it's not right of Ramachandran to give out such unacceptable statements.

There are speculations that Ramachandra was taking a dig at solar scam accused Saritha Nair, but he never named her directly. Later on he tendered his apology on the entire incident.
