IT conducts raids at BRS MLAs Paila Shekhar Reddy and Kotha Prabhakar Reddy's residence, offices

Income Tax Department officials Wednesday conducted raids at the houses and offices of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders including Pailla Shekhar Reddy and Kotha Prabhakar Reddy. 

Raids at BRS leaders' houses

The IT officials Wednesday morning searched the houses of BRS MPs Pailla Shekhar Reddy and Kotha Prabhakar Reddy at Gachibowli in the city. Around 70 teams of income tax carried out the search operations at the offices and residences of the BRS leaders. 

The companies where raids were conducted include Health and Technologies, Main Land Digital Technologies. Notably, Shekhar Reddy’s wife Vanitha Reddy has been working as the director in these companies. Along with this, the Nagarkurnool MLA Marri Janardhan Reddy's commercial complex in Kukatpally was also raided by the officials. The IT sleuths reached JC Brothers' showroom in the morning at 6 am to carry out search operations. At JC Brothers, Janardhan Reddy has been the director.

Why are the raids being conducted?

The investigation comes in view of allegations suggesting that BRS Bhuvanagiri MLA Paila Shekhar Reddy has been acting as a Benami in multiple companies. He is also alleged to have investments in 15 big firms.
