Indigo Flight bedlam: Two Indigo flyers detained for drinking on flight

Two intoxicated passengers wreaked havoc on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Patna amid recent reports of several instances involving intoxicated fliers. Due to their intoxicated state, both individuals have been detained at the airport police station.

According to SHO for Patna Airport Robert Peter, the police intervened after the accused became the subject of a written complaint from the Indigo manager. He added that the defendant would appear before the court.
Sources claim that Indigo told air traffic controllers (ATC) that two passengers were carrying alcohol before landing. There was no ruckus onboard in the 80 minutes long flight , and the accused stopped and apologized when a crew member apologized.

The sources have stated that after the passengers were stopped by the staff for drinking alcohol, they expressed their regret in writing.

Incident took place on IndiGo flight 6E-6383

In a Tweet IndiGo has stateed that there was no altercation on the aircraft :

“With reference to the incident that took place onboard 6E 6383 from Delhi to Patna, the matter is under investigation with the authorities. We would like to clarify that there was no altercation onboard the aircraft, as what is being reported in some sections of social media”, it said

The flight crew was told by a passenger that some passengers were drinking beer inside the aircraft, according to sources at the civil aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). There were six people in the group. When the crew intervened and discovered empty cans in the seat pockets, they alerted the pilot. According to them, two passengers made confessions and turned themselves in to security along with the necessary paperwork.

Two passengers "camouflaged," according to CISF sources, and drank while boarding the aircraft. "On the trip to Patna, they made an effort to drink. When passengers adjacent to them smelled alcohol, IndiGo officials became aware of the situation, and the two passengers were delivered to the CISF in Patna "they claimed.
