Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded Vikrant Massey’s recently released film The Sabarmati Report, which delves into the Godhra train burning incident of 2002. PM Modi praised the film for bringing out the truth about the tragedy, stating that “a fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time.”

By retweeting a post praising the film, Modi added his own voice to the conversation. “Truth is coming out,” he wrote, emphasizing the importance of bringing the real story to light. He further remarked, “A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time. Eventually, the facts will always come out!”

The Sabarmati Report: A Deep Dive into the Godhra Tragedy

The Sabarmati Report focuses on the aftermath of the Sabarmati Express fire, which killed 59 people, most of whom were kar sevaks returning from Ayodhya after participating in the Ram Temple movement. The film takes viewers through the harrowing experiences of those affected by the tragedy, offering an unflinching look at the violence and chaos that followed in its wake.

The Sabarmati Report Box Office Collection

Since its release, The Sabarmati Report has sparked discussions across the nation, particularly as the film gained steady momentum at the box office. Opening with Rs 1.25 crore on Friday, the film saw a 68 percent jump in collections on Saturday, earning Rs 2.1 crore. By the end of its second day, the film had grossed Rs 3.35 crore domestically, showing promising signs of sustained interest.
