After investigating Deepak's whereabouts, it was revealed that he was at home when the accident occurred. Another accused Amit, a member of Deepak's family, was operating the vehicle. The accused chose to inform authorities that Deepak was driving the car because Amit did not possess a driver's licence.Deepak was taken into custody by the police on suspicion of aiding the criminals and obstructing the inquiry. She said Anjali was killed. According to her daughter, the accused intentionally ran the car over Anjali numerous times. She asserted that Nidhi had informed her that Anjali had been killed by the perpetrators. She claimed that the defendant even attempted to run over Nidhi, but she managed to escape. She claimed that the car's windows were dark. She insisted that Nidhi gave her a full account of what happened that evening. It stated that no proof has yet been discovered to classify the Kanjhawala case as a murder, and it also stated that two additional people were implicated in the horrifying crime, bringing the case's total number of accusers to seven. Nidhi, according to the authorities, is a "crucial" witness in the case. "Nidhi is a crucial witness. Her statement was recorded under IPC Section 164 in the court so that allegation is not levelled that police recorded the statement," said Special Commissioner of Police for Law and Order, Sagar Preet Hooda.
