Delhi Car Dragged: Just as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote to the Lieutenant Governor demanding "strictest action," including the death penalty, for the five occupants of a car that hit and killed a 20-year-old woman in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party workers staged a protest demonstration outside the LG's residence, calling for his resignation.

CM Kejriwal demands strict action against culprits

Mr Kejriwal had previously stated that he had spoken with the LG and had assured him of firm action.

"Spoke to Hon'ble LG on Kanjhawala incident. Requested him to take exemplary action against culprits, strictest sections of IPC shud be slapped against them. No leniency shud be showed even if they have high political connections. He assured that he will take strong action," he tweeted about it.

Locals have also blocked the road near the accident site and crowded to the police station, demanding immediate action.

People ransacked AAP MLA Rakhi Bidlan's car in Sultanpuri, where the automobile hit the scooty, in protest.

Mr Kejriwal and his party have claimed that watered-down charges have been filed in the case, which the police deny, claiming that charges will be added following an autopsy report.

A forensic investigation of the vehicle revealed no evidence of the victim's blood or hair inside. Blood was discovered in the car's lower midsection.
