Congress Leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury Raises Alarm! Says Preamble of New Constitution Lacks 'Secular' and 'Socialist'

Congress: Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the leader of the Congress, claimed on Tuesday that the new Constitutions distributed to members on the first day of the new Parliament building lacked the phrases "secular" and "socialist" in the Preamble. "The Constitution with which we walked in the new Parliament building today, did not have the words secular and socialist in its preamble. If these two words are not present in the Constitution, then it is a worrying matter," the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha said to news agency ANI.

Congressman Alleges Sneaky Changes in Constitution and Challenges Government's Motives

Additionally, he claimed that the government changed this in a "clever" manner and that their motivations were "problematic". Chowdhury claimed that he intended to bring up the matter in Parliament but was unable to do so. The Congressman was seen reading the Constitution's Preamble in Parliament earlier on Tuesday. He did, however, read out the words "socialist" and "secular" while reading the Preamble, which is noteworthy.

MPs Receive Special Gifts in New Building

On the inaugural day of the new Parliament building on Tuesday, members of Parliament were given copies of the Indian Constitution, books about the Parliament, a commemorative coin and a stamp. These gifts for the MPs were in a gift bag. Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the new Parliament complex on May 28. The second day of the extra-ordinary Parliamentary session was held in the new structure. The uniforms for the Parliament personnel from both Houses were altered with the move to the new Parliament building. During the special session, they include marshals, drivers, cops, and chamber attendants who will all be seen donning new clothes.
