NATION BJP directs MPs to make 7-8 social media posts every day ahead of assembly polls 2024 Shivani Negi Apr 20, 2023 08:26 GMT The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked its parliamentarians to up their social media game. The party has asked them to make at least 7-8 posts on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram every day. The move comes in view of promoting the party and its work on social media ahead of the 2024 Assheoy Elections. According to an HT report, a notice has been circulated by the party in which each member of parliament has been asked to post every day or hire a team if they are unable in doing so. BJP MPs asked to up social media game The note was circulated after a meeting chaired by party president JP Nadda on April 9. In the note, the party has listed nine daily and there weekly tasks which each member has to perform. Prior to this, the MPs were asked to increase their social media presence in view of the upcoming 2024 Assembly Elections. In the current circular, one of the tasks requires MP to tweet and retweet content from the PM or the PMO’s social media properties. “Ensure that content provided by the national social media team on the MPs’ WhatsApp group is shared the same day on the MPs’ social media properties,’’ says one of the rules. PM Modi specially focused on the party MPs from Rajya Sabha to increase the connect with people. BJP has a total of 92 Rajya Sabha MPs as of now. "Even if the Rajya Sabha MPs have no constituencies they cater to they should be forthcoming and encouraging in active participation in the work or responsibilities that the party assigns to them. Regular follow-up on the location assigned to them and regular visits will be beneficial to register in the mind of the locals, is said to have been told to the MPs," a source was quoted by NDTV as saying.
