Assam: Yaba tablets worth 15 cr seized in Sonapur

On November 5, 2022, the Guwahati Police conducted a search operation in Sonapur and found Yaba Tablets worth 15 crore. Ajmal Khan, a man, was arrested in this regard. Khan, 30, is a citizen of Manipur's Thoubal District.

Reports state that a team commanded by Guwahati's Joint Commissioner of Police Parthasarathi Mahanta stopped a hatchback car and took Ajmal Khan into custody. From a vehicle's secret chamber, 60,000 Yaba tablets were found in total. On the global market, the Yaba tablets are thought to be worth 15 crore.

Methamphetamine, a potent and addictive stimulant, and caffeine are combined to make yaba. Southeast and East Asia are the regions where yaba, which means crazy medicine in Thai, is manufactured. The medication is well-liked.
