 Assam Government Extends Lockdown

Lockdown has been extended in Assam due to the surge in Covid-19 positive cases and deaths. Now till June 15 though it has increased the curfew relaxation by one hour.

Chairperson of the State Disaster Management Authority, Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, declares extending the restriction.

However, restrictions, which remained in force from 12 noon to 5 am will now be in place from 1 pm to 5 am. Also there's total ban on the movement of individuals.

All commercial and shops will close down at 12 noon whole week.

Meanwhile Restaurants, ‘dhabas’ can allow dine-in guests but only up to 12 noon
And after 1 pm only home delivery of food will be allowed.

There will be restrictions on inter-district transport services and movement of people to and from other districts.

Other restrictions imposed earlier, which includes an odd-even formula for plying of vehicles, declaration of containment zones, workplaces for both rural and urban areas will remain in force.
