Vastu Tips: The home entrance is one of the most crucial parts of the house. It is the first thing people notice as they enter your house. Not only that, it also invokes the energy that it provides to the guest. According to Vastu Shastra, there are specific do's and don'ts that need to be followed to invoke positive energy in the house.

Direction

The entrance should be facing the north-east direction. This is because it is where the sun-rise occurs, the sunlight enters the house through the entrance.

Door size

The door size of the main entrance is generally larger than other doors in the house. This brings fortune and luck to the house.

Steps

The steps leading to the entrance door should always be odd numbers

Threshold

Having a threshold made of concrete or wood will protect the house from bad luck

Nameplate

A nameplate should be placed outside the main entrance. Moreover, this should be decorated so that the good energies come into the house

Defective doors

One should be wary of defective entrance doors. Any chipping or breakage should be fixed to prevent bad luck from entering the house

Wood

Using wood entrance or decor is deemed suspicious as it is an element of nature.

Money Plant

Having a money plant on the wall of the entrance will bring prosperity to the house.

Lighting

Adding warm yellow lighting is symbolic of sunlight and brings positive energies into the home.

Dustbin

Dustbins or times like shoes should not be placed at the entrance. This will prevent gods from entering the house to bless it.

Statues

When building an entrance, statues of animals or fountains should not be placed at the entrance as it is known to stop good energies from entering.
