The plantar flex position that the foot assumes as a result of this elevation is not good for the spine, ankles, or heel bone. Increased strain on the back from the improper position may result in muscular spasms and exacerbate pre-existing disc bulges. Impact on the Spine Wearing high heels might make people who are already experiencing back pain much more uncomfortable. The worsening of disc bulges and the escalation of muscle spasms may be caused by the excessive pressure on the spine. Dr. Sehrawat stresses that anyone who already have spinal issues or leg pain that radiates should stay away from high heels. Restricted Ankle Mobility Dr. Sehrawat also brought up the important issue of the ankles' decreased range of motion when wearing high heels. The more flexible ankle movement of the natural gait is impeded when walking on uneven surfaces in high-heeled shoes. This restriction adds to the list of possible problems linked to wearing high heels by causing discomfort in the ankles and heel bones. Recommendations Dr. Sehrawat advises against wearing high heels in view of these possible health hazards, particularly for those who are suffering from back pain. If someone has back problems, she advises viewers to stay away from forward bending, heavy lifting, and—most importantly—high heels.
