Dhirendra Shastri: Social media has become an addiction, especially among the youth. The constant desire for fame, likes, and followers has led many to indulge in questionable behaviors, thinking they will be recognized for it. Dhirendra Shastri highlighted how social media addiction has taken over the minds of today's youth. He pointed out that this desire for instant fame, fueled by short videos and viral content, has driven many to resort to vulgarity. However, he believes that this phase will eventually fade away. According to Shastri, when platforms no longer reward such content, people will lose interest and the craze will decline. As he aptly put it, “The market will soon be flooded with such content, and the app platforms will stop paying for them.”

Dhirendra Shastri on the Return to Traditional Values

While social media continues to capture attention with fleeting trends, Dhirendra Shastri stressed the eventual return to traditional and cultural values. He drew parallels between modern life and the longing for simpler times, such as the desire for an earthen home despite living in a palace. In a similar vein, the youth will eventually seek solace in ancient wisdom and cultural practices, which will help counteract the damage caused by social media addiction. He believes that as the addiction subsides, the younger generation will gravitate toward values like spirituality and Vedic traditions.

Dhirendra Shastri’s Solution - Embracing Vedic Culture

Dhirendra Shastri also highlighted the importance of Vedic traditions in combating this addiction. He pointed out that initiatives like the promotion of spirituality, devotion, and healthy lifestyles could help guide the youth back to a path of wisdom. He believes that by embracing Vedic values, society can raise a generation of children who, like Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramhansa, will contribute positively to the world. This, he believes, can only happen when influencers step forward and set examples by living authentically in today’s reel-centric world.
