Sonu Sood responds to Railway's advice "You're a role model; don't do this" |Watch

Sonu Sood: An actor, attended school. On December 13, 2013, the actor, who is well-known for his charitable endeavours, posted a video of himself riding a train's footboard. However, the 22-second movie, which features Sood relaxing along the footboard and taking in the scenery to the tune of Musafir Hu Yaaro, has not gone down well with the Railway officials.

On Wednesday night, Northern Railway's official Twitter account retweeted the video and advised the actor to hold off since doing so might send his fans the "wrong message."

“You are a role model for millions of people in the country and the world. Traveling on train steps is dangerous, this type of video may send wrong message to your fans. Please do not do this! Enjoy a smooth and safe journey,” the message said.

Sonu Sood's response

In response to the tweet, Sood stated he is sorry for the video but just wanted to show how thousands of underprivileged people still travel by sitting near train doors. “Apologies 🙏 just sat there watching, how would those lakhs of poor people feel whose lives still pass through the train doors. Thank you for this message and for improving the railway system of the country. ❤️🙏”

Twitter users, on the other hand, were not pleased with the Railway's modest response and stated that if a "ordinary guy" had done this, they would have faced consequences.

“I doubt if any other individual sitting on footboard @RailwayNorthern @RailMinIndia @RPF_INDIA would have taught them a lesson to set an example… Rules are for general public only perks of being celebrity nothing’s gonna change in this country,” one person remarked.

Another user said, “Now take action so that millions of people who follow him will also come to know about the aftereffect.”

Even the Mumbai Railway Police Commissionerate's official Twitter account had urged the actor to adhere to safety precautions a day after Sood's video. “@SonuSood travelling on the footboard may be a source of ‘Entertainment’ in movies, not real life! Let’s follow all safety guidelines and ensure a ‘Happy New Year’ for all,” the post had stated.
