ENTERTAINMENT Pradeep Guha passed away due to cancer Jyoti B Aug 21, 2021 14:11 GMT Media mogul and film producer Pradeep Guha passed away on Saturday (August 21) at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani hospital. He was diagnosed with liver cancer three weeks ago and was being treated by some of the top specialists in Mumbai in consultation with doctors in Sloan Kettering New York. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated rapidly due to the aggressive nature of the cancer. He was put on ventilator support on Thursday morning at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital. He is survived by his wife Papia and son Sanket. Pradeep Guha worked for Times Group for about three decades and was one of the key architects behind the rise of BCCL from the late 80s onwards. Also read: IMD forecasts rainfall and thundershowers till August 23 in Delhi & NCR In his years at the Times Group, PG pioneered and took to global scale, some of the most iconic events such as Filmfare Awards and Femina Miss India - a mega pageant that has given the Indian film industry some of its biggest leading women filmstars. Guha later went on to lead Zee Telefilms as its CEO and also produced critically acclaimed films such as Fiza, Mission Kashmir and Phir Kabhi. Senior industry leaders expressed their condolences on Twitter as the news of Guha's death broke. Actress Lara, Dutta, and Manoj Bajyapee took to their social media accounts to mourn the producer's death. Monoj wrote that he is deeply shocked and saddened by the demise of his dear friend.
