ENTERTAINMENT Pakistan to purchase, bollywood actor Dilip Kumar’s home in Peshawar Jyoti B Oct 07, 2020 07:08 GMT The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to buy and restore the houses of Bollywood icons Dilip Kumar, according to a report in BBC Urdu. Kamran Bangash, the Special Assistant on Information to Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has said in a video message that the district administration Peshawar has imposed section IV today banning sale and purchase of the four Marla ancestral house of Dilip Kumar in Mohallah Khudadadad Qiassa Khwani Bazar. The funds have been already arranged for the purchasing of the house in the first phase said Bangash. Dilip Kumar's house will be renovated and rally in its original shape in the second phase. Under the Peshawar Revival plan the house of Dilip Kumar will be transformed into a museum and preserved it, he said. “It will be open to the general public to highlight the rich history of the historic Peshawar city and contribution of Dilip Kumar in showbiz in the India film industry,” he said. The 97-year-old actor got a glimpse of his ancestral home in the region after Pakistani journalist Shiraz Hassan shared a few images on Twitter. Although the images showed the home in a dilapidated state, the actor said he was still grateful to see them. Responding to the tweet, the veteran star who has received Pakistan’s highest civilian honour, asked if others could also share images of his home, where he spent days of his life in pre-Independence era.
