Paatal Lok Season 2: Will Jaideep Ahlawat's Hathiram Choudhary return?

Paatal Lok Season 2: The production of Indian content on Over-the-top (OTT) platforms saw an exponential growth post the release of Netflix's Sacred Games. The crime thriller walked so Mirzapur, The Family Man and Delhi Crime among others could run. However, one name that we forget while talking about India's greatest web-series is that of Paatal Lok. The Jaideep Ahalawat starrer premiered on May 15, 2020 on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy and produced by Karnesh Ssharma's Clean Slate Filmzz, Paatal Lok received critical acclaim. The neo-noir had an open-end ending, signalling a possible next season is on expected lines.

Paatal Lok Season 1 released on May 15, 2020 on Amazon Prime Video. It has 9 episodes, with each episode's running time ranging from 54 to 83 minutes. All the episodes of Paatal Lok can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

Set up in East Delhi, Pataal Lok takes inspiration from traditional concept of Swarga, Dharati and Paatal. With a murder at helm, the show begins with four individuals, all different walks of life, being arrested in the death case of a journalist, Sanjeev Mehra played by Neeraj Kabi. The murder case brings a cop (Jaideep Ahlawat) into picture who has been handed over with the responsibility of solving the case.

As he dives deeps into prisoners’ past, he discovers some ghastly details abou their lives which shook him to the core. During the course of investigation, he comes across a conspiracy that has a bigger picture than the case.

Paatal Lok features Jaideep Ahalwat as the protagonist of the story. Gul Panag plays the role of his wife. Ishwak Singh, Neeraj Kabi and Swastika Mukherjee also feature in key roles. 

Paatal Lok Review

Paatal Lok received critical acclaim from audience and critics alike. The investigating drama is also highly engaging and leaves you hooked to your screens. As the meticulously crafted show progresses, it shows what is exactly wrong with Indian society. However, the show was bashed for its anti-Hindu culture, with some claiming it glorified beef eating. Some even went on to lash out at Anushka Sharma, who had made her production debut with brother Karnesh Ssharma.

Paatal Lok has an IMDB rating of 8.0. It is listed in India’s 40 most popular web shows of India. 

We don't really know when the reason will release. It is only in the realm of speculation that Season 2 will see the light of the day. However, one thing that we know for sure is fans are anxiously waiting for the announcement of the release date of the second season.
