Box Office Collection of 'Jailer': Rajnikanth star power at display! Black comedy film locks up staggering Rs 48 Crore

Box Office Collection of 'Jailer': The much awaited movie 'Jailer', featuring Rajinikanth, had a fantastic opening day on Thursday (August 10). It earned around Rs. 48 crores on its first day at the Indian box office. This is the highest opening day collection for a Tamil film in this year, beating the record set by Varisu (Rs. 29.80 crores) in January. Also, ‘Jailer’ has the fourth-highest box office collection in the history of Tamil cinema.

The movie collected around Rs. 21-22 crores approximately in Tamil Nadu on its opening day. The movie's first day collection is similar to what ‘Vikram’ and ‘PS1’ earned in the previous year, and both of the movies became the highest-earning films ever in Tamil Nadu. Unfortunately, the film couldn't have early morning screenings in the state due to new rules and regulations. Film screening can be done only after 9 AM. These early morning shows usually bring in a significant portion of the first day earnings due to their higher-priced tickets. If this limitation wasn't applied, the movie could have easily collected more than Rs. 25 crores on the first day.

Apart from Tamil Nadu, 'Jailor' has performed exceptionally well in other states as well. On the first day in Karnataka around Rs. 8.75 crores have been earned. Has become the third biggest opener in Kerala by earning 6 crores. Apart from box office collection, the film is being liked by the audience and critics have also given positive reviews to it. With this, Independence Day is about to come and the film's collection will get a boost. The net box office collection of 'Jailer' on the opening day is 48 crores.
