Asin shuts down divorce rumours after 'baseless news' went viral, says 'enjoying summer holiday' with husband

Actor Asin has set the records straight after rumours of her divorce surfaced across social media platforms. Asin tied the knot with businessman Rahul Sharma in 2016 and has been away from silver screen ever since then. The rumours sparked after Asin deleted images of her and her husband Rahul Sharma from Instagram. As soon as her followers noticed, they enquired after her wellbeing and hoped all was well with the former actor and her spouse.

Asian slams 'baseless' rumours

Asin took to her Instagram stories on Wednesday and responded to reports claiming she is headed for a divorce with her husband Rahul Sharma. She said that she is currently enjoying summer holidays with her husband, dismissing the reports. She added that the rumours are ‘very imaginative and utterly baseless news”. 

Asin wrote, "In the middle of our summer holiday right now, literally sitting across each other enjoying our breakfast and came across some very imaginative and utterly baseless 'NEWS'. Reminds of the time we were sitting at home together with our families planning our wedding and we heard that we had broken up (laughing emoji) Seriously?! Pls do better. (Disappointed to have wasted 5mins of an otherwise wonderful holiday on this!) Have a great day you guys."

Asin and Rahul's love story

Akshay Kumar, Asin's co-star in Khiladi 786, introduced Asin to Rahul in 2012. The actor, who was also the best man at the wedding, talking about couple's relationship, said, "Asin and Rahul are very private individuals. Their privacy has been respected by all. They are now quite happy, and I am really delighted that I played Cupid. It was a fairly straightforward affair. I wish they could continue to exist in this manner."

Asin made her Bollywood debut opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini. She also appeared in comedy drama Ready alongside Salman Khan. She has also been a part of Housefull, Bol Bachchan, and London Dreams among others.
