EDUCATION Patna News: Fate of Students left in lurch; PPU colleges face severe shortage of Teaching Staff Madhulika Rai Sep 26, 2023 13:16 GMT Patna News Patna News: Many colleges under the Pataliputra University facing severe faculty crunch. The Mahila College at Khagaul has over 4000 students and the college is struggling with acute space crunch since students are coming to attend classes on a regular basis. More than half of the departments have no teachers. The Principal of the college says that they are trying to speak to the Railways to allot them the vacant land adjacent to the college building so that they can expand the space and take classes. Students of GDM College attending classes in Exam Hall Same situation is faced by the Ganga Devi Mahila College at Kankarbagh. This college is also facing severe crunch of teachers and space to hold classes. Out of the 3000 students, only 60% of the students are able to attend the classes where as out of the 107 teachers , only 36 teachers are teaching and the classes are being held at the examination Hall. Most PG Courses has no Teaching Staff The colleges have no teachers to teach Maths and Chemistry. Students of the PG courses are also struggling since these departments also have no assigned teachers for the subjects like English, Sociology, Botany and Zoology.
