EDUCATION Education Ministry says no to the MP quota for admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya, report Madhulika Rai Aug 08, 2023 11:04 GMT Education News Education News:Education Ministry has rejected the request of bringing back the MP quota in the kendriya Vidyalas. The New Rule will be applicable the country. The Central Government had put a full stop to the Reserved Quotas including the MPs for seeking admissions in the Kendriya Vidyalaya. The decision was taken with an intention to spare the 40000 seats in the schools which are funded by the Centre.. The Union Minister of State for Education said that currently there is no such proposal for the MPs to get admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya . 'These Schools belong to People who are in Transferrable Jobs' However the Union Minister of State mentions that all officers who are a part of Transferrable Jobs, and falls under other Central Government Undertakings, their wards can choose to be a part of these Kendriya Vidyalayas. MPs of LS & RS can recommend 7000 Admissions The MPs of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha can recommend around 7000 admissions under the reserved seat. In most crucial cases, the MPs can also suggest the admission of 10 kids in the Kendriya Vidyalaya. However the District magistrate has the power to name 17 students in the reserved quota.
