Uber Green, Eco-friendly EV service now available in Delhi, Details

Uber Green: The ride-hailing company Uber announced on Saturday that Delhi is now host to its environmentally friendly, worldwide electric vehicle (EV) service, known as Uber Green. When users open the Uber app to book a ride, they will now see the option labelled "Uber Green."

According to a statement from the firm, the service would assist users in choosing more environmentally friendly ways to travel in all-new, silent, and clean EVs. Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, visited the "Uber Green" exhibit at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024.

The business promised to keep investing in the sustainable transportation value chain and to soon expand the product's reach into other cities.

What did the company say?

Nitish Bhushan, Director-Central Operations, Uber India & South Asia, said, “We believe the future of transport is shared and electric and are committed to becoming a zero-emission platform in India and globally by 2040.”

He added, “Delhi is our third stop in India where we have launched Uber Green, with several riders in Bengaluru and Mumbai already swearing by the latest offering, to reduce vehicular emissions in the city.”
