Mahindra Bolero- launched in 2000

In 2000, the durable Bolero made its way to India, where it is still for sale today. The tough body-on-frame SUV has undergone multiple upgrades over the past year, including new or updated engines and a reduction in size to under 4 metres, but it continues to be one of Mahindra's top-selling SUVs in the nation. The Bolero has served the passenger car market well, and it has inspired a number of pick-ups aimed at the business and lifestyle markets.

Maruti Suzuki Alto- Launched in 2000

Although both vehicles were sold side by side for a few years before the famous Maruti 800 was finally discontinued, it was hoped that the Alto would succeed it.
