Supreme Court terminates the CoA set up to manage AIFF

The Supreme Court, while hearing the FIFA ban case today, has dismissed the governing committee of AIFF, as well as directed the Under-17 World Cup to be held in India. The Supreme Court has said that it is passing an order by FIFA to revoke the suspension of the AIFF, to hold the Under-17 FIFA World Cup in India and to allow the participation of Indian teams in international events.

The Supreme Court has given the responsibility of handling the work of the All India Football Association to the General Secretary of the Association, as well as the completion of the work of the Administrator's Committee appointed by it.

The Supreme Court has extended the elections to be held on August 28 by one week. FIFA has suspended the membership of the AIFF, citing the appointment of the Committee of Administrators as outside interference. This has put the organization of the Under-17 Women's World Cup in India in trouble. After talking to FIFA, the government had requested the court to remove the administrator's committee and conduct elections at the earliest. This will cancel the suspension of AIFF.
