Zeeshan Siddique: Ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, former Mumbai Youth Congress president Zeeshan Siddique has joined Ajit Pawar’s faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) following the recent murder of his father, former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. In a strategic move, the party has fielded Zeeshan Siddique as its candidate from the Bandra East constituency.

In an emotional statement, Zeeshan expressed gratitude to NCP leaders Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, and Sunil Tatkare for their support during his family’s difficult time. “This is an emotional day for me and my family,” he shared, adding that he was confident of securing the constituency with the backing of his supporters.

A Son’s Determination to Continue His Father’s Legacy

Zeeshan Siddique spoke out strongly against his father’s killers, stating that they “turned their sight” on him as well. He declared that, despite these threats, he remains undeterred. In a powerful message on social media platform X, Zeeshan emphasized that he carries forward his father’s legacy, calling himself a “lion” who would continue the fight for justice. “They took one, but I rise in his place,” he affirmed, reassuring his supporters in Bandra East that he stands ready to serve them.

The tragic death of Baba Siddique occurred on October 12 near Zeeshan’s office in Mumbai’s Bandra area, allegedly at the hands of three individuals. As Zeeshan steps into his father’s role, his determination to carry on Baba Siddique’s legacy of justice and service resonates across the constituency.
