Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma are in Delhi today. The two leaders are having a meeting at the residence of BJP President JP Nadda with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP General Secretary BL Santosh.

The BJP's central leadership called Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to Delhi to discuss the leadership of the next government in Assam.

The BJP-led coalition has won the assembly elections in Assam.

The results released for the assembly elections in Assam have seen 75 seats in the NDA's account and 51 seats for the Congress-led grand alliance.

BJP has emerged as the largest party with 60 seats. BJP's ally Asam Gana Parishad (AGP) has won 9 seats and United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) has won six seats. After the election results came out, speculation about the post of Chief Minister in Assam intensified.
