Madhya Pradesh MP News: Madhya Pradesh Awaits Results as Four-Phase Lok Sabha Elections Conclude Neha Kumari May 23, 2024 13:48 GMT MP News: The four-phase Lok Sabha elections across Madhya Pradesh's 29 seats have concluded, with the results set to be announced on June 4. This day will determine the fate of candidates from BJP, Congress, other parties, and independent contenders as the EVMs and ballot boxes are opened and the public's vote is revealed. The BJP is confident with its "400-plus" slogan, while opposition parties claim that public dissatisfaction with the BJP will translate into support for the INDIA alliance. Prashant Kishor's Prediction on BJP's Performance Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor, President of Janswaraj and a prominent election strategist, has made significant claims about the BJP's prospects in Madhya Pradesh. In an interview with India Today, Kishor stated that there is no substantial dissatisfaction among the public towards the BJP, suggesting that the party will not face major losses in the state. Kishor emphasized that the public does not seem to demand an alternative to the BJP, which could lead the party to secure around 300 seats nationwide with ease. He also predicted that the BJP would face minimal losses in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan alongside Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has claimed that the BJP will secure 370 seats on its own, with the NDA crossing the 400-seat mark. However, Kishor believes this is unlikely, asserting that while the BJP may not reach 370 seats independently, it is certain to surpass the 270-seat threshold. He noted that the BJP won 303 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, and a similar number could be expected this time. High-Stakes Election for Key Leaders The voting process in Madhya Pradesh saw participation from several prominent leaders. Congress figures such as Digvijaya Singh and Nakul Nath were in the fray, while BJP leaders including Jyotiraditya Scindia, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and VD Sharma tested their electoral fortunes. The results on June 4 will reveal whether the BJP's confidence or the opposition's claims resonate more with the voters in Madhya Pradesh and potentially influence the overall outcome in the national elections.
