PEOPLE Lok Sabha Election 2024: Delhi Votes tomorrow, Check Here What Will Remain Closed Neha Kumari May 24, 2024 17:25 GMT Lok Sabha Election 2024: As Delhi prepares for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 25, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) have announced special measures to facilitate smooth commuting for election duty personnel and voters. Early Metro Services The DMRC has announced that all metro lines will start operating from 4 AM on election day. This early start is intended to help election staff reach their designated polling stations on time. According to a DMRC statement, “This move is aimed at easing commuting challenges for election duty personnel, enabling them to reach their designated polling stations on time and fulfil their electoral responsibilities efficiently.” Trains will run at 30-minute intervals until 6 AM, after which normal service frequencies will resume. Additional Bus Services To further support the commuting needs on election day, the DTC will introduce additional bus services starting at 4 AM on 35 routes. In collaboration, the Delhi Integrated Multi-Model Transit System Ltd. (DIMTS) will operate buses on 46 routes. These routes are strategically planned to facilitate the movement of employees, security personnel, and officers from remote locations in the National Capital Region (NCR), including Delhi's border areas, to polling stations in the city.
