The counting process of Assembly Elections 2021 has begun in Assam. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is currently in a strong position in the state. However, the Congress has also improved its performance. Political battle is going on for 126 seats in this state located in the North East region of India. The voting process was completed in 3 phases in the state. It is being said that the biggest contest in the state is between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress (Congress)-led coalition.

In Assam, the BJP has formed a 'Mitrajot' alliance with the regional Assam Gana Parishad and the United People's Party Liberals. At the same time, Congress has formed a 'Mahajot' alliance with All India Democratic Front, Bodoland People's Front, Left parties, Zonal Gan Morcha and Rashtriya Janata Dal.
