3 Disadvantages of Buying an EV in India right now

1. Range Anxiety

Electric automobiles' short range is one of its key drawbacks. Most electric cars have a range of 200–300 km, while some more recent models can provide ranges of over 500 km on a single charge. For some people, especially those who frequently need to travel great distances, this limited range can make electric automobiles unworkable.

2. Weak Charging Infrastructure

Although filling the tank with fuel is often more expensive than charging an electric vehicle, the process can take a long time. An electric car can be fully charged in as little as 10 hours, depending on the charging technique. Despite an increase, there are still considerably fewer charging stations in India than there are petrol stations. Apart from that, India has a shortage of designated parking spots, thus many owners choose to leave their vehicles parked on the side of the road. Their decision to move to EVs has serious drawbacks.

3. Initial Cost of the EV

Even while they frequently cost more upfront than ICE-powered vehicles, electric vehicles can nonetheless result in long-term financial savings. Due to this, some people may find it difficult to acquire an electric vehicle, especially if their budget is limited.
