On Tuesday, TMC leader Mahua Moitra talked about imagining Kali Devi as a goddess who eats meat and accepts alcohol. Soon after that, the controversy escalated. TMC has issued an explanation on this and further clarified their take. Trinamool Congress Take After Moitra's statement on Tuesday, her party not only distanced itself from the remark but also condemned it. Yes, the party shared the post on its social media account saying, the comments made by Mahua Moitra and her views on Goddess Kali are personal. It is not endorsed by the party in any way or form. “All India Trinamool Congress strongly condemns such comments." Mahua Moitra statement Defending Leena Manimekalai, Mahua Moitra said, “It is up to you how you take Maa Kali. For me, Mother Kali is a non-vegetarian and alcohol-drinking goddess. I do not have any objection to the poster of this film.” Moitra's Explanation After this tweet of the party, Moitra issued a clarification by posting it on social media.
