It acts as a forum for promoting awareness of yoga's many advantages on a global scale. During his address to the UNGA in September 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi originally suggested that September 21 be designated as International Yoga Day. On June 21, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the world's commemoration of International Day of Yoga at the UN headquarters in New York. Embracing 'One World-One Family' with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar, who is from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, will preside over the national celebration. Yoga For Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, or yoga for the benefit of all in the form of "One World-One Family," is this year's theme for Yoga Day.
