HEALTH Government on alert mode: advises citizens to wear masks Nikhilesh Kunal Dec 25, 2022 11:30 GMT Because of the outbreak of coronavirus infections in China and other East Asian nations, the government has ordered airport authorities to start randomly testing 2% of international passengers for the coronavirus as of today. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya presides over the meeting with state health ministers on Friday to discuss Covid preparations. The health ministry also released a summary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Covid review meeting. Meeting examined the COVID – 19 situation in the country , the readiness of health infrastructure and logistics , the state of vaccination campaign and the appearance of new variations and their implications for public health Wearing Mask mandatory at indoor, closed & air-conditioned places An advisory will be issued making masks mandatory at indoor, closed & air-conditioned places. Union government guidelines will be followed for random testing & screening passengers arriving from abroad at international airports During the high-level meeting on Covid19, PM Modi was informed that there is adequate availability with regard to medicines, vaccines and hospital beds.
