Petrol And Diesel Price Update (13 October, 2023): The government oil companies in the country update petrol and diesel prices daily at 6 AM. Today, there has been reduction in few cities while rise in some other. In the four major metro cities, petrol and diesel prices have remained mostly stable in New Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai, with only Chennai experiencing a change. In Chennai, petrol prices have dropped by 2 paise to Rs 102.75 per litre, and diesel prices have decreased by 3 paise to Rs 94.34 per litre.

In India, oil marketing companies (OMCs) such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum determine the prices for petrol and diesel. These prices are adjusted daily and are influenced by the global crude oil price. Petrol and diesel rates are publicly announced daily at 6 a.m., regardless of whether they have changed or remained constant. However, prices may vary from state to state due to factors like value-added tax (VAT), transportation costs, and local taxes.

Customers of Indian Oil can easily access the daily petrol and diesel rates through SMS by sending "RSP" and their city code to 9224992249. BPCL customers can use a similar method by sending an SMS to 9223112222, typing "RSP" and their city code. HPCL consumers can inquire about the prices by sending an SMS with "HPPrice" and their city code to 9222201122.
